1. Overview
At MyRider, we respect your right to control your personal data. This Data Deletion Policy explains how you can request deletion of your account and personal information, what data will be deleted, what data we must retain for legal reasons, and the timeline for deletion.
⚠️ Important Notice: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your account is deleted, you will lose access to all your delivery history, ride history, wallet balance, and other account information.
2. Your Right to Delete Data
Under various data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, NDPR), you have the right to:
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Request a copy of your data before deletion
- Withdraw consent for data processing
- Object to certain types of data processing
3. How to Request Account and Data Deletion
Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)
Step 1: Open the MyRider app and log in to your account
Step 2: Go to Settings → Account
Step 3: Scroll down and tap "Delete Account"
Step 4: Read the warning message carefully
Step 5: Confirm deletion by entering your password
Step 6: Tap "Permanently Delete My Account"
Method 2: Email Request
If you cannot access the app, send an email to:

4. What Data Will Be Deleted
When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently deleted within 30 days:

5. What Data We Must Retain

Note: Retained data is anonymized where possible and stored securely with restricted access. It will be permanently deleted once the retention period expires.
6. Deletion Timeline
Immediate Actions (Within 24 hours)
- Account is deactivated and you cannot log in
- Your profile is removed from public view
- You stop receiving marketing communications
- Active deliveries or rides are cancelled (if any)
Within 7 Days
- Personal identifiable information is removed from active databases
- Location data and device information are deleted
- App preferences and settings are cleared
Within 30 Days
- All deletable data is permanently removed from our systems
- Data is removed from backup systems
- Third-party processors are notified to delete your data
- You receive a confirmation email (if email is still accessible)
After 30 Days
- Only legally required data remains (see retention table above)
- Retained data is anonymized where possible
- Data is stored securely with restricted access
7. Before You Delete Your Account
⚠️ Please Consider:
- Wallet Balance: Withdraw any remaining balance before deletion
- Active Orders: Complete or cancel any active deliveries or rides
- Pending Refunds: Wait for pending refunds to be processed
- Download Data: Request a copy of your data if you want to keep it
- Subscriptions: Cancel any active subscriptions or memberships
- Disputes: Resolve any open disputes or issues
8. Alternatives to Account Deletion
If you're concerned about privacy but don't want to delete your account permanently, consider these alternatives:
8.1 Temporary Deactivation
- Deactivate your account temporarily
- Your data is preserved but account is inactive
- You can reactivate anytime
8.2 Adjust Privacy Settings
- Disable location tracking when not using the app
- Turn off marketing communications
- Limit data sharing with third parties
- Clear your delivery/ride history
8.3 Delete Specific Data
- Delete saved addresses
- Clear payment methods
- Remove emergency contacts
- Delete chat history
9. What Happens After Deletion
9.1 You Cannot:
- Log in to your account
- Access your delivery or ride history
- Recover your wallet balance
- Retrieve any account data
- Use the same email/phone to create a new account for 30 days
9.2 Third-Party Data
Data shared with third parties (payment processors, map services) is subject to their retention policies:
- Payment Processors: May retain transaction data per their policies
- Google Maps: Location data shared with Google is subject to Google's privacy policy
- Firebase: Authentication data is deleted per Google's data retention policy
10. Cancelling a Deletion Request
You can cancel your deletion request within 7 days by:
- Logging back into your account (if still possible)
- Contacting support at [email protected]
Note: After 7 days, the deletion process cannot be reversed.

Family members or legal representatives can request account deletion for deceased users by providing:
- Death certificate
- Proof of relationship or legal authority
- Deceased user's account information

To protect your account from unauthorized deletion requests, we may ask you to verify your identity by:
- Confirming your password
- Verifying your phone number via SMS code
- Answering security questions
